The Gaanor Din Cultural Society (গানৰ দিন কালচাৰেল ছ'চাইটি) was registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 of Govt. of Assam bearing Regn. No. RS/KAM(M)-02/263/405 of 2022-2023 to promote cultural and emotional integration among the people of the state and also with other states of the country and spread the message of peace , universal brotherhood and national unity; propel every citizen to attract in the field of culture and give their best in their chosen field of activity and Ensure cultural sustainability for the wellbeing of all, as stated in the vision statement.

Every year an annual cultural event “Gaanor Din” is being celebrated since 2019 on the birthday of Diganta Bharati, a renowned Musician, Lyricist, Composer, music director of the state.

Born : 8th January, 1970 at Vill Baranghati, Kamrup (R), Assam

Father : Late Arun Chandra Kalita

Mother : Late Bhagirathi kalita

Spouse : Bhaswati Bharati (Deka)

Daughter : Dhani (Dhrupadi) and Kuhar

Schooling in Gardan School, Nalbari and graduated from Nalbari and Guwahati Commerce college.

Achievemets of Diganta Bharati :

  1. 1. He is a member of Indian Performing Right (IPRS) Society, Mumbai, India.
  2. 2. Best Music Director Award 2004-05 from Govt. of Assam for the Flim “Anurag” directed by late Bidyut Chakraborty.
  3. 3. “Sangeet Surya” award by Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha.
  4. 4. Moonlight Media Award.
  5. 5. Prag Cine Award and Gup-Shup Radio Awards for several times for his contribution to Music arena of the State.
  6. 6. Wiseman Award for Mobile Theatre in the year 2006
  7. 7. Ramdhenu Award for best Lyricist and Composer
  8. 8. Playback Singer for several super heat Assamese Film namely Dag, Jetukar Mesa Rong, Hiyar Dapunat Tumar Sobi, Adhinayak etc.

Schooling from Hatigarh Prathamik Vidyalaya and New Guwahati Adarsha High School. Graduation from Cotton and Handique College.

Post Graduation in Assamese and English from Guwahati University.
